Designed specifically for art history students, but also perfect for the serious enthusiast, Art: 101 is the ultimate tool for organizing and collecting artwork and information. In addition to an extensive library of more than 10,000 paintings and sculptures spanning the most important Western art movements from Pre-History through Impressionism, its tools and features allow the user to add their own items to the collection and to personalize their learning experience.

In Art: 101 you won't find any faux galleries or fake picture frames. The colorful yet minimal interface was designed to keep this robust app easy to use and to let the artwork and information remain the user's focus. A color-coded menu system makes navigation a breeze and multiple view options make the collection fun to peruse.

Features

  • Build a collection – With over 10,000 images of artwork from more than 300 artists, Art: 101 gets your art collection off to a great start. Add new items to the collection quickly and easily using your album photos or images from the web.
  • Edit your collection – We've done our best to make sure that all of the images and information in our collection are of the highest quality, but creation dates can change as new information becomes available and new efforts by museums and organizations are constantly improving the quality of art images available. If you want to update any item for any reason, we've made it very easy to do.
  • Study smarter – Create galleries and add class notes. Use those galleries and notes to create custom Flashcards for specific class exams.
  • Test your knowledge – Take our Quiz and see how well you know the artwork from major art periods. Choose from a menu of options to vary your topics and difficulty level. Review your stats and chart your progress.
  • Collect and organize information – The Reading Library is a convenient place to collect online reading material for any artist, period or artwork. To start you aff, we've already bookmarked the Wikipedia pages for every artist and period, as well as any work of art with its own page.
  • Share with friends – Post your favorite artworks for friends and followers on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook
